A Signature Exhibition Presented in Partnership with DCNOMA
OUR STORY
A Vision Born at the Intersection of
Art, Architecture, and Purpose
Blueprints & Brushstrokes was created and is led by DCNOMA President Telicious Robinson, born from her deep passion for both art and architecture and the powerful connection between the two disciplines.
Developed in partnership with DCNOMA, the initiative was established to raise funds for scholarships that support minority architects pursuing licensure—helping offset the cost of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and advancing equity within the profession.
Building a More Equitable Future Through Design
Equity in Licensure
Raising funds to support minority architects pursuing licensure and removing financial barriers to professional advancement.
WHY IT MATTERS
Representation in Design
Showcasing projects by minority architects and work designed for underrepresented communities—elevating voices and stories often overlooked in the built environment.
Representation in Design
Bridging disciplines through immersive artistic interpretation—connecting design concepts to culture, identity, and lived experience.
THE EXPERIENCE
People. Place. Culture.
At its core, Blueprints & Brushstrokes is a curated exhibition that transforms architectural work into immersive storytelling. Projects are paired with artists who reinterpret design through texture, sound, and visual expression—creating a multi-sensory experience rooted in people, place, and culture.
This is where ideas are not only seen, but felt. Where architecture steps off the page and into the community, shaped by identity, memory, and lived experience.
A LOOK BACK
An Evolving Platform
THE FUTURE WE’RE CREATING
More than an event, Blueprints & Brushstrokes is an evolving platform—founded through DCNOMA leadership and growing into its own cultural design initiative. As it expands, it will continue to amplify diverse voices, foster collaboration, and redefine how architecture is experienced and celebrated.
